Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026
The short version
- Haul reads the email account you connect so it can find your orders, shipments and receipts and show them in one list.
- We never change or delete anything in your mailbox. We send an email from your account only when you tap Send on a message you reviewed.
- We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we never use your email to target ads or to train general-purpose AI models.
- You can disconnect your email at any time, and delete your account and all of its data from inside the app.

1. About this policy
This policy explains how Haul ("Haul", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, shares and deletes information when you use the Haul mobile app for iPhone and Android (the "app") and this website, myhaul.ai (together, the "service").
Haul helps you keep track of what you buy online. When you connect an email account, Haul finds the order confirmations, shipping notices and receipts in it and turns them into a single list of your orders, with their items, prices, tracking details and delivery status.
2. Information we collect
Account information
You can start using Haul as a guest, in which case we create an anonymous account identifier for your device. If you create an account or sign in with Google, Microsoft, Apple or an email address and password, we receive your email address and, depending on the provider, your name and profile picture. If you use a password, we store it only as a secure hash.
Information from your connected email account
If you choose to connect your Gmail account, Haul reads the email messages in it, starting with a recent period (currently the last 30 days) and continuing with new messages as they arrive, in order to find the ones that are about your orders. For each message we process, we store:
- the message identifier, sender name, sender address, subject and date;
- the message body; and
- the order details extracted from it, such as the store, order number, items, quantities, prices, totals, tracking number, carrier and delivery estimate.
We store message bodies so that when we improve how Haul recognizes orders, we can apply the improvement to emails we already hold instead of asking your email provider for them again. We do not store attachments or any email headers other than those listed above.
We also store a token that lets Haul keep reading new mail after you connect. This token is encrypted, and you can revoke it at any time (see section 8).
Return requests and other messages you send
Where Haul offers it, you can ask a store for a return or contact its support team from the app. Haul drafts the email from your answers, shows it to you to edit, and sends it from your own email account only when you tap Send. We keep a record of the request (the store, the order, your answers and the message) so your order can show its status. Haul never sends email on its own, on a schedule, or in reply to anything.
Feedback and support
If you send us feedback, a feature idea or a support request, we receive what you write, your app version and platform, and, if you're signed in, your account's email address so we can reply.
Device and usage information
The app records basic technical and usage information, such as your device platform (iOS or Android), app version, country setting and which features you use, linked to your account identifier. These records do not contain the contents of your email. We use them to keep the app working and to understand which features are useful.
This website
myhaul.ai does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider receives standard request information (such as your IP address and browser type) to serve pages and keep the site secure. Fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts.
3. Google user data
This section describes specifically how Haul accesses, uses, stores and shares data it receives from Google APIs.
| Permission | When Haul asks for it | What Haul does with it |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email address and profile picture | When you sign in with Google | Creates and identifies your Haul account. |
Read your email messages and settings (gmail.readonly) | When you tap Connect Gmail | Finds order, shipping and receipt emails and builds your order list, as described in section 2. |
Send email on your behalf (gmail.send) | Only when you first send a return request, and never when you connect | Sends a message you reviewed, from your own address, when you tap Send. Nothing else. |
Haul never modifies, moves, labels or deletes anything in your Gmail account.
Limited Use
Haul's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular:
- We use Gmail data only to provide and improve the features you see in Haul: your order list, order details, delivery status, returns and messages you choose to send.
- We do not transfer Gmail data to others except to the service providers that help us run those features (section 5), when necessary for security, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets after notifying you.
- We do not use or transfer Gmail data to serve advertisements, including retargeting, personalized or interest-based advertising.
- We do not sell Gmail data, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- We do not use Gmail data to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.
- No person at Haul reads your email unless you give us permission for specific messages (for example, when you ask us to look into an order that appears wrong), it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, it is required to comply with applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized and is used for internal operations.
4. How we use information
- To provide the service: building your order list, showing order details and delivery status, opening a store's returns page and sending return requests you approve.
- To keep your orders up to date as new emails arrive.
- To improve how accurately Haul recognizes orders, stores and shipments for you.
- To respond to your feedback and support requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising, and Haul does not show ads.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these cases:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf and only to provide services to us: cloud hosting and database providers, an email-parsing service that recognizes order details in email messages, an email delivery provider and an issue-tracking provider used to handle feedback, and app distribution and update services.
- Stores: we never share your personal information with a store unless you choose to, for example by sending it a return request. Any information we share with stores outside of something you send yourself is aggregated so it does not identify you.
- Legal and safety: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or Haul.
- Business transfers: if Haul is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Storage and security
Your data is stored in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit, and the tokens that give Haul access to your email are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it as required by law.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account exists, so your order history stays available to you.
- Disconnecting your email stops Haul from reading new messages and revokes our access to your mailbox. Orders Haul already found stay in your account until you delete your account.
- Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) removes your account and all data associated with it, including your orders, stored email messages and extracted order details, from our active systems right away, and revokes our access to your email. Any remaining copies, such as backups, are deleted within 30 days.
You don't need to contact us to delete your data, but you can also ask us to at support@myhaul.ai.
8. Your choices and rights
- Revoke email access in the app, or at any time from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete your account from inside the app, without contacting us.
- Access, correct or get a copy of your information by writing to support@myhaul.ai.
Depending on where you live (for example, California, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what personal information we hold, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To exercise any of them, email support@myhaul.ai. We will verify your request using your account email address and respond within the time required by law.
9. Children
Haul is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
Haul is available outside the United States, but all data is processed and stored in the United States. By using Haul from another country, you understand that your information will be transferred to the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Haul changes. When we do, we'll update the effective date above, and if the changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
